Dasein: self-conscious human individuality
Baku's testimonial: This painting marks the end of our first series. The objective of the series was to create three different interpretations of the same figure. We were invited by the city of Sherbrooke to create this work in a public space. We accepted this request with great pleasure. We found it interesting to perform our creative 'routine' which is usually private and somewhat intimate in front of an audience. In the making of Dasein, we first wanted to create the impression that the woman was wrapped in a colored cocoon. The bright colors are intended to emphasize the serious and dark expression of the character. Our intention was simply to express the discomfort of loneliness and loss of footing with reality in this pandemic context.
